In this CodeLab we will cover the steps needed for updating your Gameboard Beta boards into a Gameboard product board.

In order to update your board from beta OS into our official release of Gameboard OS we'll first need to open up our gameboard.

To open up your Gameboard flip it upside down to reveal the bottom back plate. Make sure to rest your board on something soft like a towel to ensure the screen is not scratched.

Once on its back we'll proceed to remove all the screws keeping the backplate on. Make sure to have a container handy to put all the screws so we don't lose them.

With the backplate removed we'll proceed to remove all the screws of the main board.

Once all the screws are removed we'll gently push it away from the board towards the fan. This will need a gentle tug, nothing too hard while being careful of the wires.

With the board release we'll connect a USB cable on the microUSB port and connect the other end to your computer.

In this section we'll cover the steps needed to update the OS. Make sure your USB cable is connected to the main board and your computer before moving on further.

Updating from Windows

If you are updating from a Windows machine first download the Windows update package. Download Gameboard Update Packages

Once downloaded, unzip its content somewhere in your system and double click flash-all.bat

As this executes you'll see progress messages displayed on the terminal window. Note that your board will reboot a few times during this process.

IMPORTANT: If your Gameboard is not detected during the upgrade process and the terminal shows it is likely you need to update your USB drivers using the file from Google USB Drivers. Then follow the steps from here using the downloaded drivers instead.

Updating from Linux

Once downloaded, unzip its content somewhere in your system.
